EITC Participation for Individuals
The Foundation for Jewish Day Schools  has been approved as a Special Purpose Entity (SPE). This  means that individuals who pay individual income taxes to PA can now participate in the EITC program  by joining the SPE.
This is a great opportunity for Abrams families and supporters who pay at least $6500 in PA State taxes to help themselves and Abrams through their participation in the program.
The Foundation for Jewish Day Schools will provide guidance on this process so that you can participate as an individual.
If you qualify, please take this opportunity to help the school and benefit from a tax credit for yourself.
Contact Ellen Matz  at ematz@jfgp.org or call
(215) 832-0525 for more information.

Student Government Pennies Mitzvah Project
Dear Parents,
The Abrams Hebrew Academy student government is participating in a program titled “Pennies for Patients.”  This program raises money for children with cancer, particularly Leukemia and Lymphoma.  The program will run from February 1, 2016 to February 19, 2016.  Our goal is to raise at least $1,800.
Every classroom will have a box that students can put their donations in each day.  A box will also be located in the office for any parent who wishes to donate.  Any child who raises a minimum of $25.00 will receive a ticket to a future Sixers game (Parents will be able to purchase discounted extra tickets to that game).  The class that raises the most money will also receive a party.
There are two children in our immediate area that are inflicted with this disease.  Helping them and their families lessen their struggles is a great mitzvah.  We are hoping everyone will participate in the program.
Thank you,
The Abrams Student Government

Community Family Fun Day Art Project
We want to make sure that everyone is involved in our annual Family Fun Day on March 13, 2016, so here’s another great reason to attend:
Each student in grades K-6- will work on a group art piece that will be auctioned at our Community Family Fun Day!
Grades 7-8 will prepare”surprise” items to be auctioned.
Please make sure to sign and return the permission slip allowing your child’s art to be auctioned to the office ASAP!

Federation Super Sunday Appeal
This year you can participate in the Philadelphia Jewish Federation Super Sunday fundraising phone event at a Bucks County location- Shir Ami in Newtown, PA.
Abrams receives a substantial annual allocation from Federation, and the Jewish Day School Foundation administers the EITC/OSTC program (which, as we all know, also greatly benefits Abrams).
Please support Federation and volunteer to make phone calls on Sunday, February 21, 2016.
Bring your cell phone, charger, and your best positive attitude! Training will be provided.
You don’t have to volunteer for the entire time- a couple of hours will really help Federation to help Abrams Hebrew Academy and the many other Jewish causes it supports.
Register on-line at:
Shir Ami
101 Richboro Newtown Road
Newtown, PA 18940
One shift:
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Safety and Security Reminders

Just a reminder of AHA security procedures:

  • All parents should use the front door to enter the school with key cards and not the back doors. Parent swipe cards only work at front door.
  • Please do not ask students to open any doors- parents must report to the front office and check-in before entering the school.
  • No student or other person should use the lunchroom doors other than for dismissal or emergency purposes.

These rules are for our children’s safety.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Car Pool Rules

All Parents who Car Pool:

Please note that the car pool line is for grades N and K only. All other students are to be dropped off in the front of the building.

Parents who use the back for drop off should follow the directions of the teachers in the parking lot. They are there to assist students and maintain a safe environment.

Under no circumstances are parents to park their cars in the middle of the line and leave them unattended to walk students into the building.

** We ask that parents refrain from cellphone use in the parking areas while dropping off and picking up their children.
