Special Program with IDF Soldiers
Special Presentation by IDF Officers
Thursday, December 11, 2014
5:00 pm-7:00 pm
Abrams is happy to present a very special and unique opportunity for our students and AHA families to attend a presentation by a special delegation of IDF officers who served most recently in the conflict in Gaza, Operation Suk Eitan.
The officers will describe the conflict faced by Israel this summer, discussing the conflicts of soldiers in the battlefield and the struggle Israel continues to face in world opinion.
These brave soldiers represent all aspects of the Israeli military including ground forces, air force and the Israeli navy. They have all been awarded symbols of recognition of valor in battle, risking their lives to save others and making critical decisions under fire to organize and succeed in intense battles.
Everyone is invited to attend the girls’ basketball game from 4-5 pm (AHA vs. Pennington) and the presentation by the IDF soldiers at 5:30 pm. At this time, in light of the recent tragic events in Israel, it is more important than ever to show support for Israeli soldiers.
*Attendance at the dinner with the soldiers is limited to the 7th and 8th grade students, but all are invited to attend the presentation.
*Attendance by 7th and 8th grade students is mandatory. Students will share a light dinner with the soldiers at 5 pm, followed by a presentation by the IDF officers.
**Parents must arrange to pick up their children promptly at 7:00 pm!
Alumni Interviews via Skype
Abrams is proud of our alumni and their many accomplishments, and the 8th grade class is now communicating with various AHA alumni via Skype.
We want our students and families to see the impressive results of an Abrams education, and the 8th grade now has the opportunity to discuss the careers and life choices made by Abrams alumni in the years post- 31 W. College Avenue!
Alumni who have already been featured include:
Dan Lieberman, (01′), who is a reporter for Fusion/ABC; and Henry Goodelman (01′), an admissions counselor at Touro College.
In the upcoming weeks we plan to reach out to our alumni who are living in Israel, including:
Ben Chevlin (10′), an Abrams alumnus who is studying in Israel for a year; and Sarit Gabay-Rapuch (03′), an Abrams alumna who made Aliyah and was recently married.
These alumni interviews will be a regular feature, so please make sure to watch the videos as they are posted on our website!

Please do not ask students to open any doors- parents must report to the front office and check-in before entering the school.
No student or other person should use the lunchroom doors other than for dismissal or emergency purposes.
These rules are for our children’s safety.
Thank you for your cooperation!

Under no circumstances are parents to park their cars in the middle of the line and leave them unattended to walk students into the building.
** We ask that parents refrain from cellphone use in the parking areas while dropping off and picking up their children.
