On Tuesday, October 8th Dr. Nelly Toll came to our school to speak to our students. Here is a little blurb from her website about her:
Author, painter, adjunct professor at University at University of Pennsylvania, who lectures with slides of artwork. As a child she hid from the Nazis during the Holocaust. Her book, Behind The Secret Window, with her artwork created while in hiding, sold over 50,000 copies and won eight awards, including a full page book review in The New York Times. She is the author of two other books which were translated into Chinese. Her writing and art is in the permanent collection in the Vad Vashem Museum in Israel, Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. and in private collections sold by Sotheby’s in New York.
Her most recent novel, “Beyond the Hidden Walls,” has just been published and highly praised.
