On Tuesday, February 28th, students in grades K-4, parents and grandparents, and the teachers and staff of Abrams celebrated our first-ever Literacy Day!
The students enjoyed many activities and games centered around the importance (and fun!) of reading and writing. They played BINGO, word games, and wrote their own poetry, in addition to enjoying snacks and receiving prizes for being winners at the games.
One of the greatest parts of Literacy Day was the Book Swap. Thanks to the generosity of so many families, we were able to allow every student from K-4 three “new to me” books! As a special surprise, at the culmination of our activities, the students were treated to a story read aloud by Rabbi Budow!
Great fun and great learning about the importance of literacy happened that day, and we hope that this will become an annual tradition at Abrams for years to come.
