EITC Awareness Month

  • Every Jewish Day School child knows that after the joy and business of chagim and high holidays, we come from the Hebrew month of Tishrei to the Hebrew month of Cheshvan, termed “Mar” (or bitter in English) Cheshvan, due to its noticeable lack of holidays. Preceded by Tishrei, which includes Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Simchat Torah, and followed by Kislev, which includes Chanukah, it’s easy to see why Cheshvan can leave us feeling empty.

  • But not anymore… this year we’re taking it back. And we’re going big. This year, for Abrams Hebrew Academy, Cheshvan will be celebrated as EITC Awareness Month.

  • Why? EITC is one of our greatest opportunities to secure funding for Abrams and to build a foundation for the school’s future. The program allows Pennsylvania taxpayers to receive a tax credit (typically for ~90%* of the donation amount). And while the program provides invaluable funding, we are still leaving close to $1M of our eligible amount on the table.

  • But not anymore. Let’s rally as a community and encourage more participation. It can be intimidating – thinking about taxes, filling out forms. So we’re making it simple. Just click the button below, enter your name, and a member of the team will reach out to handhold you through the process, answer questions, and make it easy. If you’ve thought about this but haven’t felt comfortable or known where to start, now is the time!

  • Expect more from us throughout this month as we build our collective awareness of this critical opportunity for the school.
